
Saskia Turner
Principal
Saskia began training at Bodies in Motion Dance School at 14, became a student teacher at 15, and earned her Dance Teaching Certificate with the Southern Federation of Dance (SFD) at 19. Excelling in her SFD exams with Honours with Distinction, she ranked in the top 1% nationally. In 2011, she moved to Brisbane to study full-time with RAW Dance Company, completing a Cert IV in Dance and Business. During her time there, she trained extensively across various styles and performed under renowned teachers like Jack Chambers and Kelley Abbey.
In 2012, Saskia returned to Mossman to lead BIM Dance School, a place where dance is more than just a hobby or sport—it’s a second home and a family. With passion and dedication, Saskia fosters a supportive environment where students feel confident, strong, and part of a close-knit team. A committed member of SFD and Australian Teachers of Dance, she regularly teaches workshops, choreographs community musicals at The Clink Theatre, and inspires creativity, confidence, and achievement in dancers of all ages. Together with her students and teachers, Saskia continues to inspire, create, and achieve, sharing the joy and beauty of dance with her community.

Teacher
Prue has over 35 years of dance experience, beginning her training at the age of five at the Norwest College of Dance in New South Wales. Throughout her career, she has studied a wide range of dance styles, including ballet, tap, jazz, afro, funk, and hip hop, which has given her a strong, versatile foundation in the art form. She holds Dance Teaching Certificates from the Queensland University of Technology and the Southern Federation of Dance, equipping her with both technical expertise and a deep understanding of the teaching process.
As the principal of Bodies in Motion Dance School from 2001 to 2011, Prue cultivated a passion for teaching, focusing on developing students' technique, emphasizing safe dance practices, and instilling dedication. Under her leadership, the school grew from 50 to a flourishing community, with many students thriving as both dancers and individuals.
With a wealth of experience in performance and education, Prue is now excited to return to teaching in 2025. She looks forward to working with adult students and those pursuing ballet, bringing her broad knowledge, inspiring approach, and commitment to helping students achieve their goals.

EMILIE PEDEMAY
Teacher
Emilie has been dancing nearly her entire life, excelling across all genres as a naturally gifted and versatile performer. Growing up at BIM, she has achieved remarkable milestones, including Honours with Distinction for her Intermediate Ballet and Honours for Tap 9 in 2024, while earning awards at both regional and national competitions.
This year, Emilie is completing her Certificate IV in Dance Teaching with the Australian Teachers of Dancing. After four years as an assistant at BIM, she is thrilled to take the next step in her teaching journey by leading her own classes. With her Silver-level READY SET DANCE certification and a deep commitment to the studio's values, Emilie embodies the qualities of an exceptional teacher and is ready to inspire the next generation of dancers!

NICOLA MARANO
Teacher
Nicky fell in love with ballet and dance at just 3 years old on the Atherton Tablelands. After moving to Brisbane at age 8, she trained with Theatre & Dance, Classical Coaching Australia, and Brisbane City Youth Ballet, mastering Ballet (RAD, Cecchetti, Vaganova), Pilates, Jazz, Contemporary, Tap, Aerial Silks, and Musical Theatre. A graduate of QDSE’s full-time ballet program, Nicky earned top honors in RAD Advanced 2 and FATD Jazz and Tap teaching exams, later completing her CBTS RAD teaching certificate.
Her journey included further ballet studies at the National Theatre Ballet in Melbourne, performing with Milwaukee Ballet, and dazzling audiences on Royal Caribbean cruises in musical theatre, Tango, Ballroom, and aerial shows. Now settled in Mossman with her family, Nicky brings her lifelong passion for ballet to the studio. A self-proclaimed ballet nerd, she believes ballet is for everyone and can often be found streaming international competitions late into the night. She's thrilled to share her love of dance with the community!

TAMIKA PITT
Teacher
Tamika’s journey in dance began at age five when she joined BIM as one of its original dancers. Over the years, she immersed herself in styles like Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Contemporary, and Hip Hop, refining her skills and earning recognition through exams and performances. In 2011, she deepened her training at the Queensland Dance School of Excellence.
Her love for dance naturally evolved into teaching, where she enjoyed helping students grow in technique and confidence. After taking time away to travel Australia, serve in the Royal Australian Navy, and start a family, Tamika is back in her hometown.
Excited to rejoin the BIM community, she brings fresh energy and a commitment to helping students discover their own love for dance.

CHLOE BARTON
Teacher
Chloe first started her journey at BIM in 2016. Since then, she has trained in many styles of dancing, developing fantastic relationships with students and teachers along the way! Miss Chloe has established herself as a fantastic role model in our BIM family as an assistant teacher for the past couple of years. Chloe has recently completed her Certificate IV in Dance Teaching through the Australian Teachers of Dance and also graduate Year 12 tat the end of last year! Miss Chloe holds her Silver level training certification for the READY SET DANCE program and is excited to take on her own classes this year.

AARLIE OLSEN
Teacher
Aarlie started dancing at the age of seven under the direction of Peta McKenney’s Paradise Performers Academy on the Gold Coast. After a short break, she resumed dancing at the age of 12, training in Jazz, Tap, Modern ballet and Musical Theatre. In her later teenage years, she also participated in some promotional work with highlights being, dancing in the ‘Super League’ grand final entertainment and promo work for ‘The Boy from Oz’ during it’s Brisbane run.

After relocating to Port Douglas in 2014, Aarlie enrolled her three year old daughter Addie at ‘Bodies in Motion’. It was at her daughter’s first ‘end of year’ concert that she first saw that BIM offered adult classes. Joining the BIM family as an adult dancer in 2015 re-ignited her love for all things dance! During her time at BIM, she has completed her Tap dance exams with the Southern Federation of Dance, receiving a highly commended for her most recent Level 9 exam. Aarlie is excited to bring her knowledge and passion for Tap dance, as she embarks on her teaching journey here at BIM!

ZEA-SIAN MOISEL
Guest Teacher
Zea-Sian is currently studying full-time for a Diploma of Musical Theatre at Brent Street Performing Arts in Sydney, while continuing her connection with Bodies in Motion in Mossman as a guest teacher. Throughout the year, she will be visiting BIM to run workshops and classes.
Having started dancing at the age of 7, Zea-Sian has trained in Jazz, Tap, Song & Dance, Hip Hop, Ballet, Contemporary, and private singing lessons. She has been an active member of our Eisteddfod Teams, performing and competing in solos and troupes across the region.
Over the past six years at BIM, Zea-Sian has developed strong relationships with students and fellow teachers. While no longer working full-time at BIM, she has played a key role in preparing students for their 2025 solos and has assisted with performance team workshops during the holiday break.
In 2023, Zea-Sian completed a Certificate IV in Dance Teaching and Management with the Australian Teachers of Dancing. She is excited to continue supporting BIM students from afar in 2025.

JODY PITT
Office Manager
Jody has been an employee and parent of Bodies in Motion Dance School for the past 20+ years after her eldest daughter began dancing back in 2003. Her journey at BIM has been both as a parent and an employee and she thoroughly enjoys managing the office and the day to day running of the studio. She has extensive knowledge of all aspects of office management and event procedures and will be able to answer most of your queries.
